PLAINVILLE FIRE COMPANY’S 29th ANNUAL HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL / 2013

Great day at Norton Park, Plainville, CT

It was a glorious day for balloons lovers. Undoubtedly, I am talking about hot air balloons.  The weekend was very crowded. Thousands of people from many places were attracted to this spectacular event at Norton Park, in Plainville, CT.  This activity was organized by the Plainville Fire Company. The Festival opened on Friday, August 23rd and ended on Sunday, August 25th, 2013. Admission to the Festival grounds was Free . There was plenty of parking space on public streets bordering the event. There was great entertainment and enjoyment for all spectators.

Balloons were launched  at 6:00 am and at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 24th and at 6:00am on Sunday, August 25th, 2013.  There was a car show and a  motorcycle show on site; live bands played music at the park; food, beverage and craft vendors were present. There were lots of volunteers helping people. The pilots were excited. The crew was very busy. The audience was holding their breath. Winds were perfect for an easy launch. The crowd was ready to cheer. Balloons quietly lift off of the ground.  Balloons started climbing away. Everybody was thrilled.  Everyone was enjoying the dramatic viewIt was a great day for ballooning! Floating around in a hot air balloon must be an exhilarating experience.

We should support all balloonists in this region. You can always look for a balloon club near you.  I believe festivals like this, at Norton Park, in Plainville, CT, would boost Connecticut's tourism industry. This event was a total success. If you like to watch hot air balloons flying away, don't miss the next balloon festival at Norton Park, in Plainville, CT. This was the first hot air balloon festival I have ever attended. I got stunned by the experience. My next destination is Albuquerque, NM.
